We had our home visit from the golden retriever rescue come over on Saturday to interview us. She brought along one of her dogs to 1) make sure that Riley and the kids do well around another dog, and 2) to make sure that seeing 2 dogs in the house wasn't going to be too much, with what we got in regards to space.
She ended up staying about an hour or so..walked us through the whole application that we had filled out, and she said she doesn't see why we wouldn't be able to get another golden from them. YAY!
She happened to bring some pictures with her of a dog she is fostering at home, and asked if we would be interested in him. Without knowing about all of the other dogs out there, we opted to not go see her dog. He looks just like Riley, not that that is a bad thing..we just loved having 2 dogs that each had their own look, and besides, we really do want to try to get a girl doggie if we can. The lady that is overseeing our application might already know what dog she wants to fit us with, so I didn't want to mess that up either...either way, the lady that came over said she totally understood, and realizes that Jill is probably looking for that one special dog for us, and lets do a wait and see approach.
I am so excited about this opportunity. It means that at any time, we could soon get our new baby..and bring her or him home to it's forever home.
It was so nice to see Riley interact with her dog..he just followed her everywhere, and was showing her all of his toys. Felt so good to see 2 dogs in the house again too!
