WOW!

I guess I went away too long, because here I am, and Blogger has changed! I am going to have to get used to it and all that has changed with it. We had an amazing summer..and it went too fast, but don't we all say that? We ended the summer off right with high-tailing it to Mt. Hood, and checking into an amazing rental house there. I had so much dang fun, and it went so darn fast. The kids were in heaven as it had 3 levels, and lots of toys, lots of games..we didn't utilize the amazing fireplace that they had since it was soo hot on the mountain. I couldn't believe the weather change from when we went up last year. Last year we had to pack up all of our cold weather clothing, and we were bundled on the ski lifts to go down on the alpine slides, and we were hugging on hot cocoas.. This year it was tank tops, lots and lots of sunscreen, and shorts and fans, and lots and lots of water bottles. But, it was gooooood!! We went and saw Multnomah Falls. That was a bucket list wish I can finally check mark off. It was gorgeous, breathtaking! But it was sooo busy, it was overwhelming. I would say it was more busy than Disneyland if that makes any sense to anyone that has ever been to Disney. I am talking about when a parade gets over, or during the fireworks at night. That overly crowded, not knowing where your family was even though they are 2 feet ahead of you..it was scary, and loud, and we had the dogs with us... Dogs.. ....Yes, DOGS! We have a new doggy! I am still waiting for her official paperwork to be mailed to me to say she really is all mine, but she is here, and we are in heaven, in love, and are just smitten with this lady. It started off as a fostering situation to see if she would fit in with us since she was coming in with a lot of baggage. She came with the name, Maddie! Oh no...we had to change that right away. Too much heartache. She has a fused wrist..yes, we call it a wrist. She broke her wrist chasing a squirrel last year, and had to have 8 pins and a plate put in her widdle doggy wrist! So, it is stick, stick straight, but she doesn't let that stop her from chasing our cat. She has major allergies, and requires us to give her allergy shots in home every few weeks. She has lived on a farm her whole life, and for some reason, the last couple of years have been tough for her and the livestock. She began an obsession with sheep, and there were a couple of bad incidents that left the owners wondering what they were going to do. None of those things deterred us from welcoming her in our home. Mike was smitten from the first day. I was not so much..I did not want to get too close to her in case I discovered all of her problems were too much. She had me won over by day 5. :) She is a keeper, and her name is now Olivia. And she already comes by calling her Livie (Liveee) or Liv..or just Livia. And, she loves me, and sleeps with me on my side of the bed all night. She was so meant to be, and more.
