I have had the last almost 2 weeks off from work, and it was partially heavenly. I was to have had knee surgery and long story short, I chickened out. I will revisit this surgery in the next 6 months.
So because I had planned this while my Dr. was on vacation, I was not needed to work. And nobody called in sick, so I reaped the benefits of it, and stayed home. :) I had a lot of time to clean, to organize..to read, to sleep..it was so nice.
We spent Father's Day weekend in Portland. We went up to OMSI, and then spent Father's Day dinner at Joe's Crab Shack..it was amazing, and fun, and it was a delicious dinner. We had wanted to go to Oak's Park, but we were rained out, so to OMSI we went. It was so-so...we had been there too recently, but the kids had fun, so that made it worth it.
Last weekend my Dr. was very gracious and lent us the keys to her beach house. ;)Shhhhhh! This is supposed to be a huge secret, so I couldn't post where we were going, or staying. She had given me a gift certificate to use for my birthday back in February, so I finally cashed in on it. We had some of the best weather ever there. It was so sunny, and just a really great time. We surprised Mike with new shoes, a new belt, a new wallet, and some of his favorite candies for his birthday. He loved it so much.
He was also so wonderful to me, and drove me up to Coach Handbags, and I got to pick out a new bag, wallet, and a wristlet. I was in heaven, and still am..I never knew I could love a bag as much as I do..it is so shameful!
Had a great time, and then woke up Monday with a horrible headcold. Just as I needed to go back to work, and I had to call out sick today. What a shame to be off that long, and then having to call out sick because of a fever. I was so annoyed this morning, but I think I am finally getting better.
