Well, there are some good things to report..

I am now officially first nurse at work to my doc. Okay, okay..I'm not officially a nurse. I get called one all of the time, and yes, one day I WILL be one. ;) But anyways, my partner is going to school now, so she went down to 3 days, and to working for another doc that can accommodate her school schedule. I will miss working directly with her, but we will still be in the same nurses station, so all is well.

So this moved me to be #1 with my doc, and this week has been amazingly well. Not too many crazy things have happened, so it gave me hope that yes, I will be able to do this. I will have a new buddy with me..a really good friend I have made at work, and she is thrilled to now have her permanent home too. I just wish I got paid more..but I think we all wish we were paid more..so eh, what can you do about that? Hopefully there is an increase in my future since we are all due for another soon.

I have to say, it feels pretty good to be needed this much at work, and have patients come to my desk to ask me how my New Years went. :) Feels good to be loved there, and to know I can be relied on. And, it feels good to not be all frazzled all of the time I used to be. Now, I can say most of the time, I am one step ahead of the doc. I know what she likes for certain things, or what she will order on certain patients. In time, I hope we can speed things up a bit, and have more time in the day for meetings, and huddle sessions like others get to do. I wish there was a way to be more efficient, and only time, and a new building will provide that. We have a good comradery together, and I enjoy working with her. Not to say we both don't have our share of days where we are tense, and very serious with each other. Those days are rough..but most of the time, it is an enjoyable day, and a rewarding day.
