What we did Tuesday..

So after we got our breakfast, we headed over to California Adventure. We could only spend half of a day there as we had dinner reservations for the Pirate Dinner Adventure. Think Medieval Times: Pirate Version.

So California Adventure is soo much fun! We had fun checking it all out. It isn't as big as Disneyland..but it has totally different things. Lots of cool rides, ones you'd find on an old fashioned boardwalk somewhere..We have to go back as half of a day wasn't long enough for us to see it all, but we almost got it all done.

We rode the Twilight Zone's Tower of Terror. O.M.G! That scared the pants off of me! I expected one big drop, but this drops you over and over, and over! Way cool! I thought for sure mom would crap her pants riding it, and Matthew would love it. Wrong. The ride freaked Matthew out. I guess we didn't explain it to him as well as we should have, prior to him getting on. He loves going down hills very fast with the dips..you know, the ones that make your tummy flop? We thought for sure he would love it. He was sooo scared, and water filled his eyes. Poor dude. I felt so bad for him that we scared him..we just thought it was made for him. He made us swear not to take him on it again, and we won't..for the rest of the trip. Maybe he will like it better next year. He just loves his coasters, I suppose. BTW, my mom LOVED IT! Strange reversal of events, for sure!

We then headed over to the Pirate dinner. It was about 20 min away, and it was pretty cool! The dialogue was kinda hoaky, and the mics on the actors were way too loud in my opinion, but the food was awesome, and the set up was fantastic. We thought we were pushing it to take Matthew so late in the day (7pm) as we thought he'd have a meltdown, but he did awesome! Towards the end of the show, our server asked him if he wanted to go help save the princess, and he said "YEAH!" so she whisked him back stage (as well as other kids that were there) and we didn't know what to expect. Well...five minutes later, a line of kids comes out on the boat, and they are all dressed in dress up pirate outfits, fitted with guns, and hats. OMG! Matthew was sooo freaking adorable! He did everything he was supposed to do. He stood in a line with the other kids, and shot at the pirates when they signaled him to do so, and he did fantastic! The pirates let go of the princess, and she came down and thanked them all. He was beaming with pride, as we were of him. Of course they took his photo while all dressed up, and of course I HAD to buy it..he smiled and everything for the cameraman...unlike smiling for his mom. grrrr! LOL!

We had a low key night after that. We got like five min into the drive back, and Matt was passed out, and Kate was on her way..got the kids put to sleep, then hit the pool! We took turns with my mom watching the kids..the hot tub felt great! I should tell you that every day of vacation, Matthew has been sleeping in! We have had to wake him every day! The dragging him everywhere really works. I will forever remember the vision of Mike carrying him (asleep) onto Pirates of the Caribbean Monday night. Matthew was sticking straight out like a sign, passed out, and Mike was just walking him onto the ride..almost like, "You are going to ride, whether you are awake, or sleeping!" LOL! It was sooo funny! Matthew would wake just as the ride would start, and he had the grinniest look on his face.

I should tell you that Kate got her very first toothie! That is the best news ever! I was sitting and waiting with her while they were riding the Matterhorn, when I saw something on her gum, and what do you know..it is a tooth! It finally broke through, and on vacation to boot!

Tomorrow is another all day/nighter at Disney, only this time we are breaking for pool time/dinner at Joe's Crab Shack. I can't be in the parks around 2-5pm. The sun us killing me. My scalp is toast..my nose, face, chest, and forearms are burnt, and my feet...my FEET! You should see the blister wraps I have on them to help my feet heal. I took a pic of them tonight and every one was laughing that I was taking pics of my nasty bandages..every one of those blisters was earned walking the park, and man it was worth it.

If you have never been to Disney, you have to go..just go. You can afford it. It is the best time of our lives right now, and we just are so sad that we are almost done with vacation. It has been wonderful!
