What we did Friday...

We got so much accomplished on this day, even if we had a late start again. Today was Hollywood day. It took us about an hour or so to get there, and I got some great pics along the way. It was another hot day here, but we were all feeling better. I had wanted to go to the Chinese theater, and also to the Kodak Theater, and was pleasantly surprised to see that they were both right smack dab-next to each other. We took pics of Jimmy Kimmel Live's building, pics of the famous signs like Sunset Avenue, Mulholland Drive, Melrose...saw some cool points of interest..Trashy Lingerie, The Comedy Store, The Laugh Factory, House of Blues, there are more, but I can't remember at the moment.

We took pics of a lot of cool stars on the ground. I wanted to take pics of them all, but there was a lot of people there, so you have to be selective as to what you are stopping in the middle of traffic for. I was really, REALLY surprised to see that Michael Jackson's star was RIGHT in front of the Chinese Theater. There was a pretty big shrine around it, and it was roped off so that people wouldn't just stand on it and create an even bigger scene than it was. I felt really weird seeing it. I got some great pics of it. It was pretty surreal to just see it right there. I thought we were going to have to go hunting for it, and I also thought it was going to be off the beaten path a little. There were still news crews there filming all of the people, and the things that they had left by his star...flowers, signs, notes, candles. It was pretty much pandemonium there, and they had to keep directing people to not stop in the way of others wanting to see it.

After that, I went to the rooftop of the Kodak theater, and took some pics of the Hollywood sign. Well, as close as I could get to it. It was still pretty dang far away, but the zoom lens I brought seemed to get pretty close to it.

We were done with Hollywood in less than 2 hours. Perfect! Enough to get in, get out, say we were there, and then move on. We then headed to Santa Monica. Boy did it feel damn good to get out of the car and feel the ocean breeze. It was like 76 degrees, and I was in heaven. Sooo many people were there on the pier, and in the water, it was everything like you see in the pictures of people in California. It was pretty awesome. Glad we went there. Got some awesome pics. Can't wait to see them all.

We left there, and headed back to Anaheim and rested for a bit before spending the rest of our night at Disneyland. :( I was so sad to know it was our last night there, and we really did make the best of it. We rode several rides to say we did them again, and I did the shopping that I had wanted to do. I was pretty tempted throughout the week to buy things, but I knew I would just keep finding more stuff to get, so I waited till the last night to get it all. Mike got himself some adorable Pirates of the Caribbean Mickey ears, I got some Minnie ones, and we did the classic red ones for Matthew. Towards closing, Mom said that Mickey and Minnie were in line for people to take pics with them, so Kate and I hightailed it over, and we spent some time with them. Kate was in heaven as she LOVES characters. Mickey bopped her on the nose with his big black nose, and she cracked up! She wanted to love on Minnie, but we were quickly shuffled along as there were others waiting their turn. Sigh. What a great night this was. I felt so accomplished that we did it all, and that I didn't miss anything.

I even nursed at Disney! HUGE accomplishment for us. I can gladly say I did it, and you really can nurse anywhere. I do have to say though, huge drop in milk supply. It is okay though. I am getting through the fact that she isn't wanting to nurse much anymore. She did it at least 2-3 times a day while on vacation, and if that is all she still wants to do, I will do it. I am going to return the pump for good this week. I don't need it anymore. I don't want to need it anymore. We did go through a lot of formula while on vacation. There was just no way to stop and nurse as we were doing our long drives. I wanted to nurse, but she was just not having it. That's what happens, I suppose.

I will do the last day a little later. We are officially home now, and I am dead tired. We have to go take the rental van back, and get the dogs from the kennel. We came home at 5:30 this morning, only to walk into the house to a broken heat pump. It was 85 degrees in here. Not what you want to be dealing with when you get home. Hopefully it is an easy fix!
