And they are still going strong. Matthew has been pretty sick. He came down with it totally suddenly on Sunday. He woke fine, played like normal..and we went and had lunch. As soon as he got done with his, he had a scratchy throat, and within about an hour or so, he was already coughing the croupy cough. By bedtime, the fever set in, and he was up and down so many times that night, and so we kept him home yesterday and then again today. He slept great yesterday, but refused to nap at all today, and also refused food, even though he is screaming his tummy hurts. I keep telling him it is because he is hungry, and he needs to eat, but I can't get through to him. He will drink juice and had a banana and a few finger snacks, but that is all he will take.
It has been my first time being mom to both kids while he is so sick, and it has been pretty difficult! By the time I have met his needs, Kate needs me, then Matthew starts crying because he needs something else, and it has been very exhausting. I bow to you supermoms that are able to do this on a regular basis. It is hard work! I wasn't able to start my brush up studying until Mike got home from work last night, almost at 11pm..then went on through the night, and was up at 5:30 to get ready for school. I am freaking tired!
I just really want Matthew to get better though..more than anything. He hasn't been sick in a long time, so I should have known it was coming. He is just very emotional, and isn't cooperating a lot with what he needs to be doing..and I really want my lil guy back to normal. I have been in there so many times tonight because he keeps waking randomly, and is crying his eyes out. I can't give him any more meds because he has to wait at least till 11pm. Sigh.
I really hope Mike gets home soon. I am really ready to pass the baton!
