Reminiscing..

4 years ago today I was sitting here, waiting on the hospital to call me to say whether they had room for me to come in and be induced. I had wanted to be induced on my due date, and the Dr filling in for my Dr while she was on maternity leave agreed, so I was sitting and waiting, and sitting and waiting. I finally got the call, only it was them telling me they were too full to take me, and I cried my eyes out so hard because I was so prepared to meet my little guy. After I cried and whined to my whole family, Mike decided to take me out to dinner, and low and behold while we were sitting and waiting for our food to come, they called back and said to head on in, and we got there sooo fast!

It was a Friday night, and I didn't have my little man until 1:20 am, early Sunday morning. It ended up being a failed induction as my cervix refused to dialate pass 9 cm. They thought it was 9.5 at one point, and they were going to push the rim out of the way for me to start pushing, but they decided it was just a solid 9, and I was really too tired to keep going. So..at 12:30, they wheeled me back, and almost an hour later, he arrived. I was sooo tired from being in hard labor for so many hours, but that darn cervix just wouldn't cooperate with me. He got here safe and sound, and that is all that matters.

It has been an incredible ride. I can't believe he is all mine still. I spent some time looking back at photos of my LM, and he is just a beautiful little guy. I am very blessed to have him in my life. And as I see the pics of him now, I can't believe how much his sissy is starting to look like him. I can clearly see the resemblance of the two of them now.
I can't wait for him to have his party. I think we will be able to do it since he is a lot better now. I just hope and pray that nobody else gets ill before Sunday. Fingers crossed!
