Mom had an MRI done a couple of weeks ago. She was having problems with being lightheaded at random times, and feeling very weak. She says now that this happened before her treatment started. So the mri came back good. (YAY!) I wasn't so much worried about the mri. She thought cancer must be in her brain or something. Nah. It didn't seem to add up with the vertigo.
The docs felt confident about the mri, but felt like she should have a CT as well just to be sure her other organs weren't affected by cancer, so she had that done today. I am hoping we get the results back from that tomorrow, but as we all know, results on a Friday generally mean not till Monday. She is nervous. I got to say that she still must not be telling us things because she acts really nervous on things that just seem protocol to me, but I also have to remember she is handling things at her own rate.
Mom lost her first little chunk of hair the other day and it weirded her out. She won't stop messing with her scalp, so hopefully this will curb her for awhile.
Oh! And the most important update is that mom's cancer is basically leaking out of her site where they did the core biopsy. She says that the outside lump is gone. It was the lump caused by the cat scratch. Underneath is where the cancer lump is, and she says that with the innitial lump being gone, it feels about half of what it used to be. She has to go get rebandaged every few days since her cancer lump is "leaking." Dr's say this is an awesome thing for her, it means chemo is working. She was worried about getting infection in the open spot that is exposed, and her drs say that cancer can't get infected since it is it's own entity. Isn't that strange to think about?
Work has been non stop busy again. I am sooo tired, and just really ready to have a permanent spot where I don't have to worry about checking the dang schedule 10x a day just in case there are changes. I now start FT after the July 4th weekend. That seems sooo far away, but I know deep down, it isn't. I just wish it was here now!!!
