This last week, and into the weekend has been super busy, and thankfully we are blessed to still have Sunday to relax.
Took Matt to the eye Dr on Thursday morning. I had been telling him he would just have his eyes looked at, and that he would have to go over the "cards" again, as to prepare him of what to expect. He thought I was tricking him into getting shots again...so he was pretty nervous, and well, he had some major anxiety over it. We got there, and darnit, the day I want his eyes to work good, he is complaining the whole time about how itchy they are, and how he can't stop scratching them. Shoot!! Darn pollen! Of course this would be the day that we have to start giving him his seasonal allergy meds..not on THIS day!
So he did reletively well with the images on the wall that he had to look at..then the lady said that they were going to have to dilate his eyes. Oh...em....gee! He was NOT having anything to do with that at all. I will spare my poor boy from embarassment since he will be reading this one day in my blog book..but lets just say that he was not having anything to do with it whatsoever. We finally managed to get them dilated, and the dr saw him. He says he has 20/30 vision. He also said that he likes 5 year olds to be at least 20/25, so we will have another exam come either fall, or at his next physical. No glasses for now. He did think he was pretty rock star leaving the office wearing his dilation glasses, and he wore them proudly for his daycare buddies when I dropped him off that day.
After his appt was Riley's appt at the vet. 'nuff said about that.
Yesterday was graduation, and I have to say it was pretty interesting. It was LONG. I thought it would take maybe an hour and a half, but it took about 2.5 hours, and my department walked last. They had a lot of key note speakers, and a lot of awards to hand out..A funny...my mother in law and Mike's aunt came, and they gave me a lovely card with a nice, really nice gift inside, and I thanked them dearly for it. My mother looks at me and says, "I feel bad I don't have anything for you as I didn't know it was a REAL graduation." yeah no, Mom..this was a REAL FAKE graduation. Nevermind the cap, gown, venue..the tickets..the BIG deal it was for Mike to take a Friday night off..it wasn't REAL though. Oh, what we go through in life. I felt so proud standing there with my kids, and Matthew yelling for me as I got my "scroll" (they mailed us our diplomas weeks ago). Matt was so proud to find me afterwards in the crowd, and he wanted me to pick him up. I felt the love for sure from him.
Today was Sadie's shower, and it was amazing. She had such an amazing turn out. I had a FULL house here. It was standing room only at one point, and she was just really showered with love. Her bestie came over early and helped with set up and we really bonded. It was so perfect, and just so amazing to see her so happy with having a party. I didn't take one single pic, but thankfully her bestie did, and once they are on FB I am going to snag some. The sun was shining, the food was amazing..and I am pooooooped! I told Mike that Mother's Day is officially canceled as I don't wanna do a thang until we head to the beach in get ready for it...4 weeks or so! Holla!!

I'm not really sure what to say after that. Not a real graduation....ummm yeah. You worked so hard for that. You should be SO EXTREMELY proud of yourself. Its not easy to start a brand new career in the middle of your life by going back to school and while raising two children.
You ROCK! (and glad to hear the shower was a huge success)
I second what Jeanna said!! I am so proud of you! And the fact you did some of the hardest stuff for it with an infant and a preschooler - WOW!! WTG!!!
