Getting back to the things that matter..

I miss posting just about every day things, so I am going to start doing this again.

I went to the store after school today and bought some ready made pizza rounds so that Matthew could make his own personal pizza for dinner. He had been asking to make some for a long time, so he was pretty thrilled when I asked him if he wanted to make his very own pizza for dinner tonight. He did a fantastic job! I wasn't able to grab the camera since Kate was in her bumbo on the table with us..didn't want to risk running for it, and then have an accident with her.

He spooned the sauce on, then topped it with cheese, then put the pepperoni on. I had went to the deli and got sandwich pepperoni when we got back from CA, and I didn't want it to go to waste. Perfect use for it! He ate about half of it when it came out.

While we were waiting for the oven to bake his pie, he got pretty deep with me. He out of nowhere asked me if I was afraid of flying in the clouds. At California Adventure, they have a ride called Soarin'. It is a simulated flight on a hang glider that flies you all over California, and your legs dangle in the air while you are in a theater, watching a screen. You feel like you are really flying, and that you are in the sky. I figured he was just talking about the ride..I said, at first I was afraid, because we were really high up in the sky..(you start out by flying over the Golden Gate Bridge in San Fran) and he goes, "No. I mean when you go really, really high..like when you are on your way to heaven." This took me off guard. Then he said, "I just really wish Grandpa would hurry and come back home..he has been up in heaven a really long time." I had to explain that he isn't sick while he is in heaven, and that his body can't be here anymore. Ugh. I hate that he still hurts for his Bebah.. He then asked me why he had to get sick, and if I thought they had apples in heaven. LOL. Just when I was getting misty, he asks about apples..I said I am sure that there is the the BEST apples you can find in heaven. Then he ate, and he was pretty happy.

I have a pretty good kid. Sometimes I sit here and I wonder how I will last the few hours alone with both kids before he goes to bed without getting too frazzled, and then other times, I wish the night would never end. This was a good night.
