Another week..

And I am neglecting my blog. I want to post, trust me. I just don't have the time right now as I get Kate to sleep, and then right before I need to put Matt to bed, she wakes up "accidentally" hmmmm from her brother. Never fails. So then it is her and I awake until Daddy comes home, and then I am pooped. I go on facebook, check into the boards/blogs I read, and then hit the sack. My computer is on the fritz again. What's new? I need to get it sent..I am just taking forever getting all of the good files off of it. Another thing I can't do when it is Kate and I as I get easily distracted, (it's a good distraction though. :) )and I don't want to miss taking all of the good things off.

Camping was a success! We got there super late though, I think it was like 9:30 at night. That part wasn't fun at all. We set up camp what we could, and then watched a movie inside the rv before calling it a night. We had tried to start a fire, but it didn't take because our wood was too damp for some reason. Well, I woke in the morning and saw smoke outside our window, and what do you know? We had a little fire going! Sweet! So I ran out there and added tons of more wood, and other things to keep it going and it was perfect. We ate breakfast outside around the campfire, and had plenty of coffee. It was soo heavenly! The clouds were crowding the sky, but by the time we had breakfast cleaned up, the sun was shining. What a beautiful day it ended up being over there. We all walked down to the lake and Matt and I rented the paddle boat. Mike was really apprehensive about leaving us there alone because it looked like a long wait. I told him to just go, and Matt and I would be fine. You know what? We had so much fun waiting our turn. :) He played at the edge of the water, and we played games like guessing what number our boat was going to be..stuff to keep his mind off the fact that we had to wait such a long time. I was feeling pretty scared that I was NOT going to paddle this boat all by myself, but I knew I could do it..I just would be tired. I ended up only renting it a half of an hour. Let's be reasonable. I wasn't about to paddle alone all over the huge lake by myself. I didn't tell him there was a choice, otherwise, he would have been bummed at me choosing the lesser of times.

Once we got on, it was relatively easy. He was directing me which way he wanted to go..all of the while I was saying how mommy needed a break. LOL! We had a grand time, just him and I. We did a lot of talking about the little stuff, the important stuff. It meant a lot to me to have this really special time with him. :) I had warned him that our time was almost up so that it wouldn't be such a big surprise when I paddled us back to the docks, and even though I thought it would be okay, he was so heartbroken. I think everyone on the land could hear his cries. Oh! I felt terrible! He was okay though once I lifted him out of the boat, and thanked the ranger for letting us use the number 3 boat. **swoon**

I had told Mike we would walk back, and Mike kept reminding me to please call as I didn't know what I was getting myself into..Well..he was right, a little. We had a wonderful walk back..we took pics of the lake, and talked about the vegetation along the water..took the trails..passed a bunch of people..took potty breaks in the woods..(that is what camping is all about, right?) We hadn't even got to the campground yet, and it was clear we were tired. We were in site 397, and the entrance starts at 1. Well it is at least 25 minutes to the actual campground. It dawned on me that this wasn't such a good idea after all when we passed a weird looking guy. He was probably completely normal, but my mind was telling me that he was going to bludgeon my head with a rock from behind me, and steal my son...(yes, I worry about this stuff. I can't tell you how many times I turned around to see if the boogie man was hiding behind us.) So, when we got to the campgrounds, we called Daddy and said we couldn't do the walk anymore. Oh well, we tried! I am so glad I called him though as boy were my legs aching when we were at camp later. Ouch!

The rest of the day was filled with sunshine! About 80 degrees. I cooked a nice steak dinner on the camp stove and made fire pit baked potatoes..soooo yummy! We probably won't drive back to the coast with the rv anytime soon though as Mike said he thought it was going to over heat at times climbing the coastal range. So..better to keep closer to the campsites a bit closer to town. What a great time though! I am going to post a couple of pics in the next post.
