Matthew has been finally napping at daycare again, but refused to nap at home today, and boy was it a doozy of a day. We were supposed to go to Chuck E. Cheese since we haven't been there for at least 10 years, but at lunchtime, he just melted down, and it only went down hill from there. He is at an age, (what I mean is he is at a point now) where he remembers EVERYTHING. It used to be that so many things went over his head, and we could get away with doing or in his case, not doing things that maybe we would mention that we may do. Now if we don't do something he wants to do, he literally makes life difficult. He talks back, he says things that make your jaw drop, and he just doesn't know when to stop. He was digging a pretty big hole today, and we just flat out refused to take him to CEC as he needed to learn that you can't act that way, and get something you want. No way, not going to do it. Uh, no. He kept begging, and pleading to go. His reason for asking was simply, "I want to go to CEC because, I want to GO!" Makes sense to me, what about you? LOL!
So the rest of the day went bad,(think meltdown after meltdown over silly things..not being able to open a microwave door in the kitchen aisle at Target, getting mad at a lady standing at the icey machine) but by the time we got home from running errands, things got better, than nicer, then wonderful again. See, there is a happy ending! I just hope that we can get an earlier start tomorrow so that he can go to CEC, and have a good time. I had been promising him we would take him forever, and ever, and I just couldn't do it in my right mind today. It wouldn't have made sense to reward that.
The night ended with him playing Mario Kart, and dang is that boy getting GOOD at it! I think he is probably better than me! He begged to go to sleep for a change. That was a first. Hopefully I have a much better report for tomorrow.
