Even though Kate is sick, we still managed to have a relatively good day together. She LOVES playing patty-cake, or rather me playing patty-cake on her hands. She could have me play this all day with her and it would fulfill her. There is something about it. She just gives the biggest, gummiest grin there ever was when we play. I also have been showing her different rattles that we have got for her. The very hungry caterpillar book has been turned into a lot of fun infant toys, clothes and accessories and we have a few of them. I will hold the rattle in front of her and she is so fascinated by it that she just wants to grab it so much. She has succeeded a few times, but mostly she just loves to bat at it. I am pretty impressed with how into things she is. I don't remember this with Matthew. I just love reliving all of these "firsts" with her. She is just amazing to us. Her hair is really, really growing now. She now has about 3 inch long hair all around her head. The other day it was really poofy and I couldn't believe she hasn't lost any yet.
Tonight I got Matthew right in the bath right away so that I could have a great night with him. He really loves his baths. I guess I got lucky having 2 children that love to bathe so much. He could easily stay in there for about 2 hours if I let him (I don't) and he just loves to play with the water and soak.
After his bath came his dinner. He did really well. In fact, he has done really well the last couple of weeks eating his dinner. Usually it is a huge fight to get him to eat, but now he just looks forward to it. After dinner we read 2 Christmas books. I am getting him all geared up for Santa. The only problem is now he sees everything on tv and says that he wants Santa to bring him this, or that. I don't want him to be disappointed, but at least he is getting the jist of things. I tried reading Polar Express to him, but he was getting really tired and rummy so it was bedtime by then. I wish everynight could go this smoothly.
