My brush with fame...

Happened today.
We did end up going to Roloff Farms and o.m.g. It was the best time ever! Once we got to their road, it took about an hour to get into the property, but it was so worth it. The whole ride up there, we were all talking about how cool it was just going to be that we were going to be on their property, we didn't ever expect to actually see any of the family, but they were all there.

Let me just tell you how incredible the Roloff's are. When we were in line to get into the property, we were sitting there, and who comes right past our car in a mule? Yep. Matt Roloff. He zipped on by us with his friends in there just like he does on the show. He had that stressed out look on his face just like he always does, as we all have seen. He then got in front of us as we entered the property and we followed him in the whole way. He was right in front of us!

As soon as we got out of the car, we were just in awe at everything, and ALL of the people. There must have been I don't know..few hundred? They said that the first weekend they opened for pumpkin season they had 2000 people. Then last weekend things picked up a bit..they had 15 thousand people come. They were estimating that there was more than that so far this weekend, so we were happy to be a part of it.

We got in line for what we were assuming was the line to get in to the covered patio area when this worker asked us if we knew that we were in line to meet Amy, and we were like..we didn't know, and YES we will stay in line! I had no idea we would get to meet any of them at all..let alone really see them and here we were about to meet Amy!

I looked up and sure enough she was there, shaking everyone's hands and taking pictures with every.single.person. She was so gracious. She was so personable, and really talked to you. She thanked each and every one of us for coming to her farm, and shook our hands twice. We got a couple of pictures with her, and her autograph. It was so much fun. It felt so neat to actually meet someone that you watch on tv so much, and the most unexpected part was how amazing she was. I guess I assumed that once you are on tv, you maybe let things go to your head..or maybe you don't intend to, but you feel like you are better than that now, and you don't want to talk to all of these people, but you do to do it..and then they walk away like..omg, I hate doing interviews. You see so much of that in the press, and it wasn't that way at all!
The poor woman didn't take a break at all. She had a stand close to her with her food that she would excuse herself at times to take a bite or two and then I think she asked the crowd if she could step away for a moment and everyone in the crowd was so appreciative of her, they didn't make one snide comment like.."Oh, I can't believe we have to wait.." they all talked about how sweet she was to take the time to meet us. I was pretty impressed with everyone.

When we got in line to get on the tour of the property, who do you think drives up on a tractor, but their son, Jeremy! I couldn't believe it! I mean..these kids really do work on the farm, just like on tv!

We didn't get on his tractor, but we got on the next, and his friend that is on the show was our narrator. He talked to us all about the family, and told us details about the attractions Matt has built over time being on the farm. It was pretty neat!

Once we got to Western Town, guess who was there to greet us? Pop and Honey, and Molly! They thanked us for coming, and took pictures with us too..(they were blurry, but that is okay!) Again..they were so happy everyone came to see them! Not once do you get the impression that they are just there "acting" and doing it because they have to. Molly is very tall in real life. I couldn't believe it.

Sadly, the only people we didn't get to see was Zack and Jacob. Supposedly they were also on the farm, but they were probably on the other tour. We couldn't do both since we didn't have the time to stand in both lines, but man oh man..it was so worth it.
We did see alot of people that you see on the show. We saw Sven, the older man that paints all of the pumpkin signs..we saw the gentlemen that is Matt's right hand handyman..I wish I could remember his name. We saw one of Zack's friends..even people wanted his autograph! He kept saying..now you know I am not Zach right? LOL!

It was a perfect day to go..once we were there, the sun came out and shined bright. No jackets required. I am glad we went today as next weekend it will probably be raining. Their home is just beautiful! And YES! They did end up finishing the remodel! It is so gorgeous!
The next post will have pictures..promise! Photobucket is being super slow on the draw right now and I have to keep restarting my uploading. Grrr....
