Kate is doing great!

I am soooo in love with her. We just have the best time together, and I love everyday that we have at home, with just her and I. I am just loving all of this mommy bonding time.
Today we took a really long nap together on the sofa. I was bound and determined to leave the bedroom at a decent time today and I was out here by 10:30 am. We watched a couple of movies, we ate..she had several diaper changes..it was such a wonderful day.
We stayed in our jammies for the most of the day too..just in time to change into a new pair of jammies! LOL!
Her scar is looking absolutely fantastic too! She lost a few of her steri strips today. I am anxiously waiting for the rest to come off so we can give her a REAL bath instead of a spit bath. The strips aren't even really on her scar, they are hanging on by each side of her scar, so I think her ped will probably take them off tomorrow when we see him again. I am really hoping that she weighs her birth weight tomorrow..that is our main reason for her visit. If she does, I will be over the moon!
Things are starting to look up around here again too. Matthew was sooo good tonight! He took a super long bath..then he ate dinner and we read books. He asked if I could lay with him for awhile, and I did..and after I laid with him, he earned 3 toys back.
I say back because we have had to take a different approach with disciplining him lately. Instead of timeouts..(which really don't work all of the time) we give warnings on changing his behavior. If he fails his warnings, he loses a toy (preferably his very fav toy) to the garage. He lost a ton of toys this past weekend. It has been the only way to get through to him as nothing else has been working at all.
So I went out there tonight and brought 3 toys in. Oh my gosh..he was soo happy. One of the toys was his stuffed doggy..he instantly asked if he could sleep with him, so I tucked in doggy under the covers and told him that since he was sooo good tonight, I wanted to show him that he really can earn his toys back. His response? "Well, can you go get the rest of my toys please??" lol..no..sorry, it doesn't work that way.

I wish everyday could be this great.
