One by one, we are all crashing and burning, and becoming sick. Sick, sick, sick. First Kate came home almost 2 weeks ago with fever, and some vomiting. She got over that, and then last Friday Matthew came off his activity bus ill. He held onto a fever all weekend, and then Sunday evening he climbed to a 104 degree temp. Scary! By morning, he was back down to 100. I took him yesterday to the urgent care since they were slow when I left work..(we are up on the fourth floor at work, and urgent care is on the bottom floor) I was relieved they got us back in record time, and he has pneumonia. We caught it early..so early had I taken him in the day before, it probably wouldn't have shown on x-ray and we would have been told it is viral and to come back in a week if he wasn't better. Played and done that game, so I wasn't beating myself up too terribly, but was still surprised nonetheless that he was even that ill.
I have been battling a scratchy throat for a week. I would drink a vitamin c packet, or take some extra vitamins, or even walk after work and that scratchy throat would go magically away. I started mucinex in case it was turning into a mucous mess, and it was a good thing I did as this morning I woke up with a nasty throat. Mike came home from work last night with a fever, and his voice was cracking. Oy-vay! Let me off this ride!
I am going to the doc tomorrow to get checked out. I have mixed feelings about it. I am sure they will tell me to give it more time, but I don't want to give it more time. I know what happened with Matthew, and I don't want to wait too long that I am too sick to take care of them. Mike is going to go on Friday if he isn't better by then. It just stinks that we got through all of the mucky weather, and the flu and cold season without even a hiccup, and now we are all so dang ill. Go away! It is so lovely out there, and dammit, I have to race on Saturday. I already paid my way, and trained for it, so I got to be better by then. I have to be. I have no choice!
