#1: Mom went and had a CT scan to back up her results of her MRI. The CT confirms that she does NOT have cancer anywhere else in her body.
#2 The CT did show that mom has a pulmonary embolism, and that is what has been causing her dizzy spells. She hasn't been short of breath though so that is a good thing. She is being put on blood thinners to reduce the clot.
#3 Mom went and saw her doctor this morning before chemo, and he said that he is very impressed with the size of her tumor. The first chemo session really made a huge dent in the size of it, and with all of the shedding of fluid around it, it has reduced in size tremendously. He gave her some really encouraging news: that after this round of chemo she did today, they will evaluate the size again, and if it has shrunk even more, she will only have to do one more round of chemo, and not the 6 rounds he originally said she would need to have the surgery.
As you can imagine, we are all feeling very blessed, and very optimistic at how she is being so compatible with the chemo meds they initially chose for her. There could be so many different scenarios with what she has been dealt with such as needing to try other meds, or other courses of treatment.
A huge sigh of relief, and many thank you Jesus's have been said tonight. :)
