Mother's Day---belated...

I meant to post Happy Mother's Day to all of you special mom's out there. I hope that everyone had a very special day with their family, or alone if that is what you wanted to do. Everyone has their own idea how they like to spend it, and some of my friends wanted peace and quiet, while others opted for large family gatherings. We spent Mother's Day on Saturday shopping, and then later in the evening we brought my mom a ice cream cake and we planted Matthew's pumpkins that they had planted seeds at my house in planters weeks ago. My mom had cleared a spot in front of her house for Matt's pumpkins and hopefully they grow and grow for us to be able to have in time for Halloween!

Sunday, we took Mike's mother to brunch at El Toritos. SOoooooo yummy! (we had surprised her at work the day before with a beautiful bouquet of roses and flowers) she was very surprised to see Matt carrying such a large vase, just for her.

Brunch was wonderful, and afterwards, we went to a birthday party at the farm. The weather couldn't have been more beautiful. I was actually too warm in my sweater but it was sooo sunny we didn't care. The skys opened up as we were leaving, and boy did it downpour! We were blessed to have been able to have such a sunny afternoon celebrating the mom's. :)

I have been telling Mike I wanted a new necklace that had the kids' innitials on them, and I haven't been able to find any I like, or that were "me"...so at brunch Matthew says, "here mommy!" and gives me this box, and inside was this sterling silver necklace with a K and an M in it. :) I am proudly wearing it now. I asked Mike what he was going to do if I ended up finding one when we were shopping and he said he had planned on returning if need be, but was thrilled when I said I didn't find any I had liked when we were going store to store. He won. It was a good mother's day. :)
