Easter, dragons, and sushi-oh my!

We had a very wonderful Easter this year. Kate was in good spirits, and dare I say as I sit and type, she hasn't had one coughing spell this evening. I think she got just exactly what the dr ordered for her...rest and more rest. We laid very low this weekend, didn't attend any park or official Easter gathering. I wanted her to stay well, and hopefully it worked.

Mike's mom came over this morning after breakfast (a nice hearty breakfast I might add! Mmmmm) and had lots of goodies for the kids to go play in the sand next month when we go to the beach house we rented. She also had stuffed bunnies for them..(good thing too, since I forgot to get them an actual bunny) She had other plans too, to take both boys to the new Dragon movie that just came out. I have never taken Matthew to a movie yet..oh I want to, it is just too scary for me to think about. I worried he'd run up and down the aisles, he would talk through the whole thing, or he would throw a fit to leave..so I told her she was very brave! She was pretty convinced she could make it work, so away they went. Oye! I watched the clock anxiously wondering if he would be returning much sooner than the movie was supposed to get over with.

Surprisingly he did great. He sat and drank his pop, and candy and popcorn that she bought the boys..he held pretty good interest until about the last half hour when he was just like I can't take it anymore. I think that is good..she managed to convince him to stay through the end, and he did. I think due to the half of an hour or so of previews, he was done sooner than most kids can take. If it had been a sequel to a movie he had seen before, he probably would have stayed put longer.

Later, everyone came over, and played games, did eggs, ate dinner, visited..it was a blast. We ordered chinese take out, and Mike and I had went and picked up sushi yesterday in preparation of today..so we munched out. It was sooo yummy! I didn't want to cook, I didn't want the greasy leftovers..I wanted to just be able to have a meal and be done with it. Everyone left, and it literally took us 10 minutes to tackle the whole house, and all is zen in the world again. I will sooo do take out dinners again for holidays. I can't believe how much fun I had not having to be in the kitchen cooking all day. I highly recommend it.
