Well, that wasn't very nice!

Kate has been coughing again, and has had a green, snotty nose to go with it. Over the last couple of days, the coughing has changed into a gravely type of cough, so I thought I better take her in to the dr today to be checked out. (thank goodness our medical group has hours available on weekends without going to urgent care)

So I got there and fully expected to be told the same ol, same ol.."Oh it is viral, and should go away soon" instead the dr (not our reg doc) noticed she was breathing really fast, over 50 respirations per minute. She has always been a fast breather, but I didn't think it was that fast..so she gave her an albuterol treatment. We sat there and sang songs while I held the little tube so she would breathe it in..she did great with it..the more she sang, the more she was able to breath in..

The doc checked her after the treatment and still wasn't satisfied with her breathing, so sent us for a couple of xrays. Turns out, Kate has pneumonia. I would have never had guessed. See, last time she was sick, I just knew she had it, and was told it was viral, and would go away. Sooo top that with the sinus infection she has going, (nice and green snots, oh my!) we are on anti-biotics. I told the doc thank you for catching it! She said, "awwww, no worries, you would have probably been in here in a couple of days with a realllly sick little girl"...yeah, and who knows how full her lungs would have been then! So praying the antibiotics kick in, and kick butt! She hasn't even had a fever which is why this is so puzzling to me! Get better punkin!
