Milestones!

Matthew finally, and when I say finally, I really mean it..he finally lost his first tooth!! It has been loose for at least 3 weeks, at least!! Mike texted me one day at work that he had a loose tooth, and it really surprised me. It was just really loose overnight, and he just was too scared to pull it. I was so afraid he'd lose it eating lunch at preschool or something, so last night he finally really let me work on it. I had worked on it about a week ago, but he just didn't trust me to pull it at that time..so last night he got really brave, and we went for it. I knew all I had to do was get it past that one point, and we all know what I am talking about..as soon as I could feel that it was "there" I told him to pull out his tooth, and he did! He had an instant adrenaline rush afterwards..who wouldn't? LOL! He was instantly fascinated with the gap in his smile after that. Oh..I had a little cry last night since it was such an important part of his life. I was so happy that I, mommy, got to be a part of it. As he gets older, I will miss out on a lot of milestones of his that maybe he won't want me to be a part of since I will be his mom ya know, and not his girlfriend.

So...after he went to bed, the tooth fairy came, and she glittered all over the house..she went into the bathroom and left glitter, his room, his toys, all over his toy kitchen that is next to his bed...and he was sure to show me this morning everywhere she had been in the house. It was truly magical! I am so happy it went off without a hitch, and that my son is a believer in the magic of these types of things. I love that little man with all of my heart. He makes me so proud of him!

Today he came home sick with a 102.4 fever. Poor little dude. I don't know what happened with him, but he is recovering pretty well. I just hate my kiddos getting sick!
