That it looks like I have a job! Acccck! I should know for sure this week, but it is looking pretty darn good. The reason I feel good posting today is that they announced that I was going to be a permanent fixture there, and everyone welcomed me aboard!
If it wasn't for the girls there telling me I needed to confront my supervisor to let her know I was interested in working for them, I could have finished this week without any job on the table at all, and well, probably feeling like I had a lot of looking for work to do. Once I let her know I wanted to be considered for a position, she advised me on how to apply, and even though it was originally supposed to be for an on call position, it looks like I will have some guaranteed hours there, and possibly maybe, a permanent spot? It is all hard to say for sure now, but everyone seemed to already know that I had been "hired" so I am thrilled!
So I went for my drug test last week, and they are doing my background check now. I am going to finish my school hours this week, and then I am hoping to have the next couple of weeks off as I have my HUGE certification exam to take on the 22nd. I have had zero time to study for it, and I need to as I went through the book last week, and boy oh man, it is going to be a dooooozy!
This week I started to work up front, checking patients in, and scheduling patients for their next upcoming appointments. You don't realize everything that goes on behind the scenes there at your local dr's office, so please be nice to that lady that checks you in! LOL! I can't believe all of the duties that we have to be responsible for, so I am really hoping that in time, I will act like I have it all under control, and not be frazzled. To be honest though, I really loved working up front today. I was able to dress up for work, do my hair..and things just seemed to flow more since I have a bit of office work background. Only time will tell what I prefer more, to be up front, or to be in the back playing "nurse."
It was pretty weird to call school today to say I wouldn't be back. I have to meet with financial aid this next week to do my exit interview, and to discuss graduation. We don't have the next graduation ceremony until April..seems so far away! I can't wait to walk down that aisle and get that degree!
