It works out so much better when you know you aren't going to put stress on yourself to clean the house. We had a very late morning..just lounging around, I did bubbles with the kids..they played in each other's rooms. Matthew cleaned his, he is getting a lot better at his chores. He earns 3.00 a week for allowance, and depending on how well he does chores during the week, or how well he gets along with mom and dad without getting timeouts, he sometimes gets 2.00, but he has consistently got his full amount the last few weeks. He is working very hard at aiming to please, and it shows. If he says something upsetting, or he gets mouthy, he has been coming to us with some very heartfelt apologies, and is really making strides. The funny thing, and I should say great thing about him is that he does not want to spend his allowance at all. He wants to save it until his crayon bank gets full. I am sure once we give him more chores, he will get an increase in what he gets now. For now, the 3.00 is working for us.
Later today, we went to Big Lots, got some new sofa throw pillows and snacks, then went to Toys R Us. That was a bust since they didn't allow me to use my coupon that expired a week ago..we ended up going to Walmart and getting his Leapster charging station there. He has been playing it so much, that his batteries are always worn out. I love that he is so good at playing it. He just does so well with it. I don't think he would have liked it as much as he does now if we would have got it for him sooner. His grandma is so happy that she picked such a winner gift. ;)
Looking forward to another great day tomorrow..only this time there will be laundry involved. Oye!
