That was the longest drive of my life, and I am so glad we aren't doing it again for a full week. We didn't get in to Santa Clarita until about 7:30 am, yesterday morning. I think it ended up being a 15 hour drive after we made all of the little stops. We didn't sleep at all, and just kept driving. Once we got to Redding, which was only 5 hours into our drive, I quickly decided it was a bad idea. LOL! But Mike took over then, and then drove us in, the rest of the way. Lets see, I had been up for 25 hours when we finally arrived, I thought I was going to start seeing weird things! J, I thought of you when I saw an exit sign to take the highway to Paso. :)
Katelynn did not travel well at all. The poor thing had the worst constipation of her life, and was crying so very hard when we were checking into the hotel, that she lost her breath, and it took her over an hour to get to where she was breathing okay again. Mike and I put her in the bath, then he took a shower with her, and then she was totally better.
We headed to the water park, and we had so much fun! Mom took turns watching Kate for me while I took Matthew down the lazy river. He was wearing his life jacket, and floated down the entire thing, and was having so much fun! I saw a mom carrying a baby down it, and thought, I could do that! So I went and got Kate, and brought her in, and she was sooo adorable. She loved it so much! We ended up taking the lazy river about 3 times.
We did some adult water rides, and got the thrill of a lifetime with the tornado ride. It shoots you out on a 4 person raft, and you almost spin over a wind tunnel thing a few times, (really, you go back and forth, just really high, and fast) before you land into a pool. I thought it was the BEST water ride I had ever been on!
Today we are at Six Flags. We are going to take a limo there as parking is 15.00 for each car, (we have two) and the limo company is going to charge us only 5.00. Matthew is going to LOVE IT! I am completely sun burned. Stooopid me. My shoulders are really burnt, so I am going to slather on the sunscreen today. I make sure my kids are covered, then forget about me. I won't be doing that again.
Off to breakfast, and then the parks!
Day two is looking really good!
