Had a blast...

We took Matthew and Kate on their first official camping trip over the long weekend. Matthew had technically gone before, but he was so little, and it was only one night, without all of the regular stuff that comes with camping. Mike's parents had gone to an RV resort over at the coast when he was about one and a half, and they invited us to stay the night. No campfires, no long walk around the campground..I wouldn't even really call it camping, so we were really anxious to see how he would do this time.

He did great! He stayed in our camp-spot the entire time. The only time he went off a little on his own was the last day when we were packing up. He really only went on the opposite side of the rv, and we could still see him, so it wasn't a big deal at all. He was so upset when we woke up yesterday and informed him we were leaving to go home. He cried and cried. I felt terrible that he was so sad, but it was definitely time to go. I was worn out from doing all of the cooking, and not getting good rest. I will for sure not try to cook 3 square meals a day when we go back out next weekend. It was way too much work for me to try to do. Nobody expected me to cook either, I just had put too much pressure on myself. Note to self..make just sandwiches next time! LOL!

We played badminton, went on long walks around the trails, took the dogs to the boat ramp to swim..let them run their hearts out in an open field..it was just so much fun. The campsite had a dog park, but we only used it once. They had more fun being at the campsite with us, off leash. We would let them be free in a clearing for group picnics, and they would just run and run. They (the dogs) had so much fun. They haven't really moved since we got home though. I think they are extremely sore from everything. Maddie scared the daylights out of me Sunday night. She wasn't responding to me at all, and was just looking into space..she finally came out of it when I waved a cracker in front of her face. I think she just over exerted herself. Poor doggie!

Katelynn was all smiles, 24/7. She loved every moment of camping, and we just loved watching her take it all in. At night, she wanted nothing more than to have mommy. I would wrap her up in so many blankies and we would just snuggle away and she slept so good. Her and I slept on one bed, and Mike and Matthew were on another. Matthew slept in! He stayed in bed with dad until Mike woke up. I think he thought he was pretty special, as you could just see how excited he was to be with us.

I can't wait to take him again. He just loved it all. I took some pics, (of course) and will post them probably later today. I am taking turns napping with the baby to catch up on some sleep. I am a walking zombie!
