Getting sooo big!

Katelynn is talking a lot now. She babbles on and on all day long about this and that, and it is just the cutest thing ever. She was sounding like Donald Duck today, and it was making me laugh! I imagine sometimes that she is going to sound like Rachel Ray when she gets older. Sometimes she just has that raspy little voice, and it is so becoming on her. It gives her lots of character.

I made homemade baby food this past weekend for her! I am so proud of myself for going green and doing this for her! Woot! I made a butternut squash, halved it, baked it in a shallow pan with a tad of water inside, covered it and baked it for about an hour and a half, and boy was it tender. I pureed it, then put it into an ice cube tray, and she has been eating squash the last couple of days and loves it. I did the same with green beans, and they look so awesome! I was stunned at how different they look than Gerber ones. Gerbers are so dark brown..almost like they pureed canned green beans. Mine are such bright green, and she is still giving me funny faces, but she will like them the more I try, I am sure. Next, we are going to do carrots, and peas. Mike went and bought a bunch of veggies for me last night, so I am going to probably make those up this week. I am so proud of her trying new things!

I gave her a biter biscuit today and she loved it! She wouldn't hold it, that surprised me since she does so well with her binky, so I held it until it started to get too soggy, and I kinda freak when it gets to that point, so she was done. :) She is loving to be able to try all of these new things, and is such a big girl! She is so proud of herself when I put her in her bumbo to eat. She gets so dany excited.

Kate still doesn't roll..did a couple of times a week or so ago, must have been a fluke. Yet, I can dress her, then stand her up on my bed to button the back of her shirt with no problems. She may just go straight to standing, and cruising the furniture, I don't know. I guess she will just go at her own pace. Gosh I love her. I just am so enamoured with her..can't get enough of her and the way she smiles at me when I come home from school is enough to brighten anyone's day.

Just a hint on the homemade food. If she doesn't like something mix it with her cereal. Just a little, then add more and more until its just the new food. Thats how I got Logan and Ronan to eat anything green! I had a grand time making baby food.
