Long day

But a good day. . Today we went to a birthday party that one of my girlfriends was having for her 3 year old son. It was a great time. The weather was overcast, a bit rainy, but oddly warm enough for all of us to hang out in her front yard for a bit, catching some much needed fresh air. Matthew had a blast since they had a pinata, and it was just nice to get out.

After, we went to a new party store that opened here. (Party City) WOW! They have everything you could ever ask for to have a child's birthday party. For those of you that have these stores in your town and are thinking, (big deal) please know that this is HUGE for us to have one of these here! We have one other party store, but it mostly caters to the wedding clientele, the more posh style, and the prices are OUTRAGEOUS!

Matthew has decided that he wants to have a Backyardigans themed party this year. We did the same theme for his 2nd birthday, so we were like, "Oh what the heck." Might as well, since I don't know how much longer he will care to watch his little friends on tv, and they are so dang colorful and cute. So, we are excited for him. Mike wants to make his cake like last year, so this should be fun. We decided we will def celebrate it on Easter Sunday. It will just be us, family, low key, and...r.e.l.a.x.i.n.g.

Don't laugh...but I think I already know what I am going to do for Kate's first bday. I am thinking Hello Kitty. Yes, partly because of Bakerella..but in all honesty, I did happen to stumble on the Hello Kitty decor while looking for things for Matthew. It was then that she posted those HK cake pops that was the deciding factor. I was like, DAMMIT! I have to do it now! I can make those! LOL!...I might change my mind 10 more times, since well, we have about 6 and a half months. I KNOW! It is so insanely stupid of me to start thinking this far ahead, especially when I don't want her to get any older than she is today.

I have never even been a HK fan. In fact, I never even "got it" why it was so popular. But man is she cute! After looking at all of the 1st Birthday decorations for girls, I wasn't really that impressed..too froo-froo-ie. So, we will see.
Off to relax. I made the mistake of drinking too much coffee today, and now I am sick to my stomach from it. For some reason lately, I can't drink more than two cups, otherwise, I feel like really, really sick from it the rest of the day/night. Blech!
