But man, are we tired! Started off the day by going to lunch at Olive Garden. It was Matthew's very first time out to a place like this. I know! We are bad for never taking him before, I just didn't dare tempt it in case he ended up being "that kid" that had a meltdown while people all around us are forking out more than 20.00 to eat. I hope that makes sense. He did really well! They sat us in an alcove, and he loved sitting at the big round table, and ordering his food. We just hardly ever go out to eat with him, so this was a pretty big feat for us to get past.
After, we went bowling. He was tired, and managed to do pretty well. I did horrible, and that was with the bumpers even being up! Hilarious!
After that, we went to the uniform store, and I treated myself to 3 new scrub tops..hee hee..well, I guess it really wasn't a treat, but it feels good to have really pretty ones that none of my other classmates have. I also got myself my very own blood pressure cuff. I have been wanting one forever, but didn't have the funds to actually get one, so it was nice to just be able to buy it, and not think twice about it. I wanted to also replace my stethoscope, but that will have to wait until next time..maybe tax refunds..I want a more reliable one than the one that we get for "free" from school. I say "free" because it isn't really, it is included in our tuition, but it isn't of course the best, it isn't even run of the mill..it works, but it isn't very loud. I can't hear Kate's chest the way I want to with it, but it does it's purpose for my clinical class, so that is all that matters. Once we got home, I sat around and took every one's blood pressure. It was pretty comical.
We got a cake from Sweet Life. OMG. Best.Cake.Ever! They are our local "go to" bakery/patisserie here, and man are they scrumptious! Mike and I got our wedding cake from them, and try to treat us to special cakes from time to time. When he asked me if I wanted a cake from there, I didn't even hesitate. We got the Turtle Cake. Chocolate heaven. Yum! A rich chocolate cake, filled with more chocolate, topped with chocolate, pecans, caramel..its like eating a chocolate turtle if you have ever had one. Yum!
Will post some pics in a few. I need a rest. What a long day!
