Had an interesting day.

Remind me that I am not allowed to leave the house, will you?
We were out shopping today and I went to take Matthew into the restroom at Sears. He didn't want me to go with him as he only wanted my sister to take him. So I grabbed his hand and was telling him that I needed to take him and he instantly went limp on me.
Me trying to avoid a scene, tried to get him to stand up and get off the floor, but I was not succeeding. I bent down behind him to talk to him and was about to tell him he needed to stop it and get up, when he decided at the same time to slam his head up, and well..he slammed me hard, right square in the nose.
I instantly cupped my hands over my face in pain. The pain!! OMG! I had never felt pain like this before. I had that instant numbing pain you get when you bump your nose, but this was like c-section pain times 100! I felt a trickle of blood come out instantly, and then said to my sister, "OMG Dee!" and I went into some racks of clothing to get out of the way of the aisle. I fell to the floor and instantly had handfulls of blood. It wasn't stopping, and it was running like a faucet. I was haunched over on the diaper bag that I had managed to still be holding when my sister came over to assess me and was like..OMFG! She went up to the register (they have those centralized register things..one at each entrance kind of deals) and was shouting, "we need towels! please give us paper towels!" I was on my knees trying to just get it to stop, but it wasn't working. My sister ended up trowing tons of paper towels in my hands, but it just kept running and running. I looked up to see Matthew standing there by the column I was kneeling against, and he was looking at me with so much angst. His look said it all..he was sorry. I have never ever, ever seen him look at me this way. He knew that this was serious, and he was terrified. Probably wondering how mommy could possibly be bleeding this much.

Around this time, Mike met up with us, and he freaked out. He was like wtf is going on here? How did this happen?

Of course we were on the opposite side of the store from the restroom so I had to walk all of the way there, covered in my mess, all of the while covering my face, trying to not get it anywhere else.
All of the sales people were cool about it, thankfully. Some of them came into the bathroom to help me, and to tell me where I needed to pinch my nose..and it helped. I cleaned up as much as I could, and hightailed it out of there.

We drove home and then my sister took me to the hospital as I was certain my nose was broken. The crunch of him slamming against it was just enough to say it is toast, but maybe not according to the dr that checked me out. He said that it is still straight, but that things could change in the next week or so. I had to wait about 3 hours to be seen, and then once I got back there, he said that an x-ray would easily take another hour and a half. I was bursting at the seams, needing to pump these breasts, and told him I needed to get to my baby and feed her, so he sent me home with just ibuprofen and told me that I need to keep icing it and to watch for it to start to slant in the next week. If it slants, then I need to go see an ENT.

So...please. Don't ever do like me. Don't ever stand behind your child and lean down over their head to tell them something. All I wanted to do was tell him in a nice, quiet manner that he needed to behave, and this is what happened.
What a freaking nightmare.
