My son...

Can be a really big sweetheart. We have those annuals planted in the front of the house..I think they are petunias, and he just loves them.

He has a habit of picking one off the bunch every night when we come home from daycare and last night he did his typical picking before walking in the door.

Usually he holds the flower until it gets really wilty, or he loses interest in it, and then he usually ditches it on the floor or the table.

Well so last night I went to put something in one of Katelynn's drawers in her room and I didn't bother to turn the light on. So I pull the handle of the drawer and thought EWW! It felt like wet toilet paper just wrapped around the handle. This is also typical Matthew. He likes to get a handful of tp and get it wet and he just leaves it in random places. So I take it and put it in my hand to throw away when I felt there was a stem on it. I turned on the light and realized he had placed last nights flower so that it was tucked just inside the handle of her dresser. I am sure it looked pretty like that before it was all wilted.

So I was telling Mike about this last night and we both awwwed out loud that it was really cute that he did that, but that he probably did that because that is where he ended up and just didn't want to hold it anymore.

Not so.

Tonight Matthew gets out of my car and goes right over to the flowers and says he has to pick a flower. So I waited for him to find the right one and ask him what he is going to do with it and he says, "I'm going to go put it in sister's room." I wish we could post emotes here because my heart filled with love right there.

So we go inside and he takes it to the exact same spot as the one I found last night. I told him he was a really nice big brother for wanting to put flowers in her room like that, and gave him the biggest hug ever. He was pretty proud of himself and proceeded to strut all over the house after that, wearing a huge grin on his face. Man! I just love this little guy!
