I lurve Fridays.

I just do. Mike has worked it out at work to not close anymore on Friday nights...that is unless he is needed as a backup. But that hasn't happened too much in the last few weeks, so it has been good. Really, really good.

So he usually gets in no later than 7:30 and we try to do something fun, or out of the ordinary for Matthew. It is just a fun way to kick off the weekend, and Matthew really looks forward to seeing Daddy come home early on Fridays. It is all he can talk about.

Tonight we decided to take Matthew to the drive in hamburger place. Man was this place packed. All of the old fashioned cars were lined up..all waxed up, and it is just a great family hang out. We don't get to go too often, in fact..I think we haven't been there in almost a year, but it was fun. I was commenting how funny it was to see the cars from the 50's, and here we were in a Prius. It was just so funny to me!

The car hops come out, and you get the food on a tray that hangs from the window. Matthew took the time to sit up front and "drive" the car. He loves to pretend he is driving..so we ate some really good burgers and then drove past the fair since it was dark by this time. He loved seeing all of the carnival lights all lit up..thank goodness he didn't ask to go in..since that wasn't going to happen. It is so hot here. Even at 9:30 at night it was too hot to be out walking around.

After that, we decided to take him up to the look out point since we have never taken him there. Mike put him on his shoulders and let him see the whole city all lit up. It was so cool to watch Matthew in awe at all of the lights in the city. He was pointing to everything asking what this was, or what that was..I like nights like this.

Makes the craziness of the day so worth it. Friday's can be stressful since he is so worn out from the week, and he tends to be Mr cranky pants for me when I get him from daycare..so it was a nice way to end the night. For sure!
